The Hæwene Brim FPSO is located on the UKCS Pierce Field. The vessel produces, stores and offloads the crude for the field operator, Shell UK Exploration & Production. |
|
|
|
Bluewater purchased the Hæwene Brim FPSO (formerly Berge Hugin) on 1 October, 2001 from Navion and Bergesen. It was at this time that the Pierce Production Company (PPC) in Aberdeen, who were owned 50-50 by Statoil and Aker Maritime, was also taken over.
Since February 1999 the Hæwene Brim has been producing on the Shell UK operated Pierce field on the United Kindom Continental shelf. |

The Hæwene Brim’s main functions are: |
|
|
|
- Receipt of fluids from subsea wells
- Control of the subsea wells
- Processing of the incoming fluids for separation
into crude, water and gas
- Storage of the stabilised crude oil and
maintaining it at the required temperature
- Treatment of effluent for discharge of water to the sea
- Chemical injection
- Produced gas is reinjected and is utilized as fuel
- Offloading of crude into “tandem moored” shuttle
tankers
- Power generation for process, gas compression,
offloading, utilities and ship systems
- Provide accommodation for operating and
maintenance personnel
- Provide helideck for helicopter operations

All systems are designed for a minimum annual average production up-time of 95%. |
