Hæwene Brim FPSO
The Hæwene Brim FPSO is located on the UKCS Pierce Field. The vessel produces, stores and offloads the crude for the field operator, Shell UK Exploration & Production.
Bluewater purchased the Hæwene Brim FPSO (formerly Berge Hugin) on 1 October, 2001 from Navion and Bergesen. It was at this time that the Pierce Production Company (PPC) in Aberdeen, who were owned 50-50 by Statoil and Aker Maritime, was also taken over.

Since February 1999 the Hæwene Brim has been producing on the Shell UK operated Pierce field on the United Kindom Continental shelf.
The Hæwene Brim’s main functions are:
  • Receipt of fluids from subsea wells
  • Control of the subsea wells
  • Processing of the incoming fluids for separation into crude, water and gas
  • Storage of the stabilised crude oil and maintaining it at the required temperature
  • Treatment of effluent for discharge of water to the sea
  • Chemical injection
  • Produced gas is reinjected and is utilized as fuel
  • Offloading of crude into “tandem moored” shuttle tankers
  • Power generation for process, gas compression, offloading, utilities and ship systems
  • Provide accommodation for operating and maintenance personnel
  • Provide helideck for helicopter operations
All systems are designed for a minimum annual average production up-time of 95%.
