Joint Industry Projects
Joint industry projects (JIPs) are research projects with a high industrial relevancy. Research companies, certifying authorities, classification societies, oil companies, engineering companies, ship owners, yards and suppliers may all participate in JIPs related to offshore systems.
JIPs provide a solid platform for sharing knowledge and addressing commonly encountered problem areas in the industry. The variety of participants ensures a multi-discipline approach and a broad acceptance of proposed solutions, thus the results can easily be implemented in practice.
JIPs are paid by their participants and may receive a subsidy from a national government or the European Community.
Bluewater has participated and still is actively participating in a number of JIPs related to FPSO and SPM systems, including:

  • FPSO integrity
  • FPSO offloading operability
  • CALM buoy
  • Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC)

Bluewater has also participated in many other JIPs over the years. Read more on: FPSO Offloading Operability JIP
